Chef's tip

If you prefer, serve this dessert with a spoonful of chantilly crème or whipped cream.

Serving suggestion

Serve at the end of a meal or in the afternoon on its own as a dessert.

Wine selection

Serve with a sweet dessert wine such as Moscato or Passito, or eat it while sipping a little rum.

Family tip

The hard and extremely fragrant anise seeds have digestive, soothing and astringent properties. Make sure you always buy them whole and never pre-ground to prevent the essential oils from losing their smell, taste and properties.
