San Benedetto SINCE 1956

From the origins to the source: over half a century of history.

In 1956 the San Benedetto Group’s first factory was built in the heart of Sile Park. The Company took its name from the spring of the same name. An well-known spring already in Roman times, it was subsequently appreciated by 18th-century aristocrats. They regarded it as 'acqua della salute' (water of health) thanks to its balanced organoleptic composition. Nowadays San Benedetto is one

of the leading companies operating in the national beverage market, with approximately 13% of the entire market volume (source: Canadean), with 17 million units per day produced in Italy alone and with brands in partnership that represent an important evolution for the Company.

A total beverage company: an expanding universe of brands.

San Benedetto not only produces mineral water, but an impressive 9 categories of merchandise which today represent 55% of the total turnover in terms of products and market. This is why it can be described as a 'Total Beverage' Company. In addition to its own brands on the mineral water and soft

drinks market, the Group also produces and commercializes other products: iced tea, chamomiles, flavoured waters, fruit-based beverages, sport drinks, aperitifs and tonic water. San Benedetto is a multispecialist and multi-channel company, bringing a range to the market which is comprised of 9 brands and 130 different products. For this reason, San Benedetto is capable of satisfying the consumer's requirements with various kinds of products, multiple taste experiences and with different packaging and format solutions.

Production in harmony with the environment.

Constant attention is paid to the environment. With the aim of defending and promoting energy saving and improving production

efficiency, we choose the best raw materials and optimize the disposal of waste. Thanks to a high level of modernization, the Company has been able to markedly improve the production process and to design a new generation of 'eco friendly' bottles: 0.5 litre bottlesmade using just 11 grams of plastic, for a world with 'less plastic and more nature'.

Respecting the environment with concrete actions.

San Benedetto has received an award, as part of the 'COOP for Kyoto' project, for being one of the most active Italian organisations with regard to CO2 reduction. The company has also reached an agreement with the Italian Ministry of the Environment with the aim of

analysing and neutralising the impact of bottled water on the climate. The project was presented at the Italian Stand during the 2010 Shanghai Expo, as part of the initiatives dedicated to the theme of 'Food & Drugs': the first tangible result of the project is the Easy bottle, produced compensating all CO2 emissions generated during its entire lifecycle. San Benedetto has also launched other initiatives, including the 'PET Salvage' project, which involves collecting plastic bottle directly from the sale points in order to encourage the establishment of a new consumption habit aimed at the reduction of environmental impact.

Initiatives aimed at protecting the environment.

San Benedetto adheres to

the campaign 'Tck tck tck: Time for Climate Justice', an initiative that was developed with the aim of sensitising politicians with regards to environmental issues and to encourage World leaders to translate the idea of respect for the ecosystem into concrete actions.

Other projects.

The production of electrical energy from sludge, the optimization of air-conditioning and energy at bottling plants and the reduction of the weight of bottles through the use of less PET and more recycling, are all projects that are in the research stage. Research is the fruit of San Benedetto Group’s innovative philosophy for improving the quality of its factories, products and the environment.
